

Pray for the strength to walk the high road, which at times may be lonely but which will lead to peace and happiness and joy supernal.

In all this world there is no substitute for personal integrity. It includes honor. It includes performance. It includes keeping one's word. It includes doing what is right regardless of the circumstances.

The true gospel of Jesus Christ never led to bigotry. It never led to self-righteousn ess. It never led to arrogance. The true gospel of Jesus Christ leads to brotherhood, to friendship, to appreciation of others, to respect and kindness and love.

It is both relaxing and invigorating to occasionally set aside the worries of life, seek the company of a friendly book...from the reading of 'good books' there comes a richness of life that can be obtained in no other way.

Conversations I have had with school principals and students lead me to the same conclusion-that...there is an evil and growing habit of profanity and the use of foul and filthy language.

Mortality is but a stepping-stone to a more glorious existence in the future.

I wish to be up and doing. I wish to face each day with resolution and purpose. I wish to use every waking hour to give encouragement, to bless those whose burdens are heavy, to build faith and strength of testimony.

You must ask for God's help. After each failure, ask forgiveness, pick yourself up, and try again.

In all we do we must cultivate faith. Increased faith is the touchstone to improved church performance.

Just as our Redeemer gave His life as a vicarious sacrifice for all men, and in so doing became our Savior, even so we, in a small measure, when we engage in proxy work in the temple, become as saviors to those on the other side.

What a wonderful time it is for each of us to do his or her small part in moving the work of the Lord on to its magnificent destiny.

I commend to you the virtues of thrift and industry. In doing so, I do not wish you to be a tightwad, if you will pardon that expression, or to be a freeloader, or anything of the kind.

I believe in the principle that I can make a difference in this world. It may be ever so small, but it will count for the greater good.

Mutual respect, the soft answer, financial honesty with the Lord, prayer. I do not hesitate to promise that if you will go to your homes and cultivate and nurture it among these four cornerstones, your lives will be happy.

Well, we have nothing to hide. Our history is an open book. They may find what they are looking for, but the fact is the history of the church is clear and open and leads to faith and strength and virtues.

Each of us has to face the matter -- either the Church is true, or it is a fraud. There is no middle ground. It is the Church and kingdom of God, or it is nothing.

There have been times when a particularly heavy dose of such cynicism has caused me to reflect that surely this is the age and place of the gifted pickle sucker!

We feel the need to emphasize with greater clarity the obligation for members of the Church to become more independent and self reliant.

The trick, my brethren and sisters is to enjoy the journey, traveling hand in hand, in sunshine and storm, as companions who love one another.

A testimony is a conviction, a quiet inward certainty of the reality of the living God, of the divinity of His Beloved Son, of the restoration of Their work in this time. It demands that we do what He has asked us to do.
